📣 Locals to Know: Nicole Euler, businesswoman, athlete and blood donor extraordinaire

Well hello, 🗣 Locals to Know:

It’s that time for our weekly installment of Pulptown’s Locals to Know series, where we cede the spotlight to a local person or organization who’s made their mark on the larger Orlando community. Keep an eye out over the weeks to come for more of these interviews, and if you know of a person or organization that we ought to feature, don’t hesitate to send them our way.

Today’s Local to Know is an incredibly active member of our community in every sense of the word. That’s because she’s a seasoned triathlete who volunteers for the Special Olympics when she’s not advising business or donating blood! Meet Nicole Euler — mom, Orlando native and supporter of important causes. Take it away, Nicole!

Work hard, play hard: that’s Nicole!

Hi Nicole! Tell our readers: Who are you? What do you do?

I am a Corporate Engagement Director at the Orlando Economic Partnership. I work to connect businesses in the Orlando region to help them grow and thrive. I am a mental health advocate, speaking often about my experience with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am also a regular blood donor, on track to hit the 5 gallon blood donation mark in November. I volunteer with the Special Olympics, swimming with an athlete for USA games for the open water swim competition in June and swimming with another athlete for an open water swim competition in August. I am President of Citrus Toastmasters, a club to help you get over your fear of public speaking, tweak your skills, and help you learn to think fast on your feet. I am also an MBA student at UCF with an anticipated graduation of May of 2023 (only 3 more classes). I am a wife, mom of 2 teenage sons and my favorite hobby is [competing in] Triathlons. I just completed my 5th Ironman 70.3 in June and my next one will be October 1.

Wax poetic for a second and tell us: what brings you most alive about this city?

I absolutely love Orlando. This is my hometown! I love the growth, the diversity and the overall vibe!

What’s your favorite Orlando memory?

The unity in Orlando after the Pulse tragedy. Our community came together to support the victims, families, and each other.

If you could eat only one meal from a local restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tuna sub with pickles and paprika from Gabriel’s Sub Shop on Edgewater. I have been going there since high school!

Outside of the obvious stop above, share your other top three destinations for where you’d go on your perfect Orlando day.

Boxi Park in Lake Nona for their awesome variety of food, craft beer, and live music!

Lake Eola, a great place to walk, run or people watch. My husband and I got engaged there!

East End Market on Corrine Drive: Gideon’s cook

ies, The Neighbors bar, cute vendors, and outdoor seating. So fun!

What’s your favorite local social media account to follow and why?

All things Tech! Orlando on LinkedIn has the talent and companies that are building the foundation of the Metaverse.

If you could give any one piece of advice to locals, what would it be?

Be open to conversations, make connections,

and explore new areas. There is so much happening in the Orlando region; there is something for everyone.

How does Orlando help you do what you do or influence your work?

I started my career in Orlando in 2005 and I have been able to grow in my career through the relationships I have built here. The connections from my current and former employers, clients, church, friends, and family continue to influence the work I do daily.

What’s an unpopular opinion you have about the city?

We aren’t as pedestrian or bike friendly as we should be.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

My 40th Birthday is on November 11 and I will be hosting a Blood Drive with OneBlood with the goal of 40 donors to celebrate 40 years of life!
