Even if you’re not cat people, you can still appreciate ‘em. Lulu down below is the coolest cat on the block — it’s true, ask anyone in Thornton Park. Lulu is the neighborhood’s local celebrity. He’s always down to strike a pose, stop for a cuddle, and won’t shy away from sharing your food.
If you live in Thornton Park and frequent Washington Street businesses, then you’re no doubt familiar with the mayor of Thornton Park, Lulu the Cat. Lulu is a “renaissance man, friend of Kevin. Living [his] 9 lives like [he’s] only got one.” As Lulu says, “if I’m on Washington St., I’m not lost.”

Lulu’s a wellspring of cute cat content for the ‘gram, and The Falcon Bar knows it. Last year they asked peeps to share their photos of him with them because they used the photos to create a Lulu Calendar! (And the crowd went wild!)
All of the money raised from sales went to benefit the Liberation Cat House, a local nonprofit cat rescue. As it so happens, the house currently has some really cute kitties up for adoption in case you’re looking. 😉 Are you kitten me — this is an adorable story, right? Right?
An official Lulu committee selected their favorite twelve photos, and we’re hoping that this year, Lulu will do the same (let’s all send an email to Matt – with the link to this article – urging him to keep up the Kitty Cause Campaign for next year: matt@mattkellerlehman.com).
Not all politicians are smarmy! Take Lulu, the mayor of Thornton Park. Talk about purr-fect government! Lulu manages the locals on Washington St.
