THE PLACE: Sanford Porchfest is an annual event where homeowners donate their porches for one day for a mini music festival. Neighbors walk between 10 homes which host different genres of bands.
FUN FACT: The first Porchfest was in 2007 in Ithaca, NY — since then it has expanded to hundreds of cities including several in Florida like St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Sarasota.
QUOTABLE: “We just hope everyone can kinda just break outside of the rush of our typical days,” said Shelly Allen, the co-founder of the Porchfest. “It’s a day to let all that go and leave it behind.”
