Orlando Shuffle brings shuffleboard to all

Every first and third Saturday of the month, Orlandoans come together at the Beardall Senior Center for a mean game of shuffleboard hosted by The Orlando Shuffle, Orlando’s shuffleboard club. Founder Rick Kilby said he discovered his love of shuffleboard after a visit to St. Petersburg where shuffleboard is a big part of the community.

“It’s a lot like curling or croquet,” Kilby said. “You may be a natural shuffleboard player if you’re a good bowler or have a good short game of golf.”

Not sure you have what it takes to put your biscuit in the kitchen, i.e., your disk in the 10-point scoring area? Have no fear. Check out our video to learn pro-tips from the shuffleboard legend himself, Kilby.

You can also visit the group’s Facebook page for a list of upcoming Orlando Shuffle Club events at the Beardall Center. Plus check out our suggestions for other “old people activities” around Orlando.

The center is located at 800 S. Delaney Ave. in SoDo. Games are usually played from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Check out our very first experience shufflin’ here.
