🧐 Orlando, the land of theme parks, tacos, breweries, and cannabis?

1... 2... 3... #slothie

AND YOU THOUGHT YOU LIKED NAPS 💤

It’s not unusual to find her sleeping 18 to 20 hours a day. It’s her thing.

Meet Arie, one of the sloths at Wild Florida.

Arie, who is in her early 20s, has been at Wild Florida for the past couple of years and is one of the sloths you can hang with at an animal encounter. During a VIP experience, you’ll have the opportunity to hold Arie, feed her a snack, and take a #slothie. (Finally, you can check it off your bucket list!)

“We’re in the business of helping people make a connection with animals,” said Sam Haught, the owner and co-founder of Wild Florida Airboats. Its mission is to have you fall in love with the animals, build a connection, and then help in the preservation and conservation of animals in the wild.

Find out more about Arie, discover her favorite snacks, and see what her favorite activity is (you can probably guess).

NO SMOKING, NO PROBLEM 🚭

Florida’s medical marijuana laws remain murky at best, but that’s not stopping cannabis companies from setting up shop in the Sunshine State.

VidaCann is the latest dispensary to open a store in the Orlando area, where it’s selling capsules, concentrates, tinctures and vape cartridges. Earlier in the week, Toronto-based Trulieve — which has a location in Orlando — inked a deal with a Colorado company to sell pot-infused edibles in Florida.

But wait a sec, you might be thinking — aren’t edibles still illegal in our state? That’s mostly correct, because Florida doesn’t have a system in place to approve or reject such products. But company reps say they’re forming partnerships early so that everything is ready to go once the rules change.

It’s been nearly three years since Florida voters passed a constitutional amendment to legalize medical marijuana, but the new law has yet to be fully implemented. It’s now up to the Florida Department of Health to decide what to do about edibles, while Gov. Ron DeSantis pushes lawmakers to take action on a regulatory law that bans smokable medical marijuana.
