🤔 What do Tinder and commuting in Orlando have in common?

Would you swipe left or right on commuting around Orlando? The guys at Omnimodal break Orlando's transit woes down for us in Tinder terms.

SWIPE RIGHT ON TRANSPORTATION 🚙

What could Tinder and Lynx possibly have in common? According to David Moran and Nathan Selikoff, the brains behind Orlando tech company Omnimodal, it’s a lot.

Moran and Selikoff — the second group of changemakers in our transportation series — believe that technology could be the missing link from helping Orlandoans get around town more efficiently and effectively. The biggest culprit? A lack of real-time data.

Would you swipe right on Lyft? But swipe left on SunRail? Find out what Moran and Selikoff had to say by watching our video here.

WHAT'S GOING DOWN IN PULPTOWN?

A BOLD BUDGET

Gov. Ron DeSantis is counting on the federal government to pony up for hurricane relief. His proposed $91.3 billion budget — the largest in state history — relies on the feds coming through with at least $1.5 billion in disaster assistance for hurricanes Irma and Michael.

The money would go toward debris removal, marine fisheries disaster recovery, and assisting people who were displaced from their homes. DeSantis has already had some wins at pushing the Trump administration to pitch in more for hurricane relief: After Michael, he convinced the White House to pay for 45 days of debris removal, instead of the five days that were initially approved.

Other notable line items include $100 million for school security, nearly $85 million to address the state’s opioid crisis, and about $338 million to build affordable housing and to support developers building those kinds of projects.
