🚂The good, the bad, the confusing, the surprising, the ugly.

Tell us Orlando’s art scene is weak and we’ll show you four local artists who produced a New York-worthy show over the weekend. Follow @theunsigned.artist @danielleheinart @mr_guerrier & @wallflowe12 for more artwork that’ll make you go bananas.

Earlier in the summer, we asked you to join in on our SunRail Challenge. We offered to pay for your trip, to even pick up the bill for lunch a few times on your journey, all for an exchange of you giving us the low-down on your experience, the good, the bad, the confusing, the surprising, the ugly.

This week, we’ll be following along as three riders take on the SunRail challenge, all three for the first time. One such rider just moved here from Colorado in January, a place where he used public transportation to go everywhere. Another is tired of traffic on I-4, carrying her son from the Millenia area to Hunter’s Creek and then on to Winter Park for work. And another is seeking to save some gas money on the run from Maitland to Downtown Orlando every day.

So, this week, all three will chronicle their journeys and experiences for us to share. Join in on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and right here in your daily newsletter. We’re also asking for your recommendations on where they should lunch, what they should check out on their trip, and any advice you have for first-timers.

Our August playlist is primed for your morning commute. It’ll get you going and will keep you grooving all day long. Check it out here.

Kaepernick cut … again. The Orlando-based gaming company, Electronic Arts, better known as EA, is taking some heat for editing Colin Kaepernick’s name from a song on the soundtrack for Madden NFL ’19. EA issued a statement last week that they had made a mistake, and while they did not have the rights to use Colin Kaepernick in the game, they could use his name in the song. Kaepernick’s name will be restored to the song as of Monday, EA said. (ESPN)

Marching Orders. A new Netflix series dedicated to the marching band of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach debuted on Friday. It’s 12 episodes of unscripted footage sharing an inside look of what goes into the rigorous auditions of the marching band culture at historically black colleges. (Orlando Weekly)

Soccer fans and Orlando lovers unite. Next year, the MLS All-Star Game will be played here in The City Beautiful. An official announcement is still to come, but plans for the event are underway and the game will make good on a promise the league made to Orlando City when the club joined MLS in 2015. Local effects of the global trade war. Orlando businesses are starting to feel the effects of the U.S. tariffs, specifically those in the manufacturing and construction industries. One way you might feel it? Increased construction costs may be jacking up your housing costs in those new high-rises. While tourism numbers are still healthy now, rising costs of the trade war could discourage consumers from vacationing too. (Orlando Business Journal)

Study up for your civic duty. The League of Women Voters released their election guide last week. It’s a great place to start if you want to study up on candidates running for office, also where to vote, and when to vote. With only 22 days left until the primary elections, now would be a good time as any to educate yourself more. (BeReadytoVote.com)
