Who are you? What do you do?

My husband and I are the owners of Something Fishy Seafood Restaurant in Altamonte Springs.

Wax poetic for a second and tell us: What brings you most alive about this city?

Our restaurant is currently in Altamonte Springs, we love being new to the area. We have been in Orlando for 15+ years and we still enjoy the holidays. Every town puts out beautiful lights and every year they outdo themselves.

We’re definitely ordering the shrimp and grits this weekend. (📸: Courtesy of Patrice)

If you could eat only one meal from a local restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would have to be our shrimp and grits! Hands down the best meal around! Our shrimp and grits are special because chef uses red Argentine shrimp, which is a shrimp that has the texture of lobster. This makes the grits extremly tasty with every bite. Our guests tell us they are amazing and will get upset when we sell out!

What’s your favorite Orlando memory?

Visiting Mount Dora for the first time during the holidays with our children.

Share your other top three destinations for where you’d go on your perfect Orlando day.

We love Terra Mia Italian Restaurant in Altamonte Springs, Aunt Gingerbread Bakery in Apopka and any beach!

If you could give any one piece of advice to locals, what would it be?

Eat local!

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Growing our business. We are also hosting pop-ups through our “Chefs of Color Program.” The program features local chefs and caterers of all different nationalities to join us and “Take Over Our Kitchen.” If you or anyone you know would like to join us as a chef of color, reach out to patricephillips@ymail.com.
