Fall in love with the animals at Wild Florida

We chatted with our friends at Wild Florida and brainstormed ideas on how you could surprise your plus 1’s with an unforgettable animal experience. From cute and cuddly animals to creatures best observed from a distance, Wild Florida has a little bit of something for everyone.

And if you’re looking for a creative way to say “it’s not you, it’s me,” we’ve got that covered, too.

GET UP CLOSE

Want to woo your partner with a hands-on experience? You’ll want to check out Wild Florida’s animal encounters. You can get up close and personal with a sloth, gator, lemur, or porcupine. Reservations are needed to see these these exotic creatures face to face.

Recommendation: After you take a #slothie, grab a sloth slushie (yes, it’s a real beverage) to sip on while you explore the rest of the wildlife park.

WATCH FROM A DISTANCE

With a one hour drive from downtown Orlando, you’ll find yourself at the headwaters of the Florida Everglades. The best way to see the natural swampland and its inhabitants is by an airboat tour — this is also a good option to experience nature without getting your hands dirty.

Recommendation: For a romantic touch, reserve a nighttime airboat ride. Couple the evening with a taste of the swamp and order grouper or shrimp.

WITH YOUR FUTURE EX

Looking for somewhere to have an uncomfortable break-up conversation? Or a group activity for your feisty in-laws? Take them to lunch with Crusher, Wild Florida’s largest alligator. You and your dinner companions will enjoy lunch inside Crusher’s habitat as he watches on from 10 feet away. No fence. No protective gear. Crusher’s personal trainer will tell you everything you could want to know about the 14-foot, 1,000-pound gator. Relationship advice not included.

Recommendation: Be sure to toss Crusher one of his favorite snacks before you go.

Pro tip: Wild Florida has discounts for Florida residents, teachers, and more.
